Workplace policy background

Workplace policy

Flexible work. Clear ownership. Strong collaboration.

At AblyCode, we believe great software is built by trusted teams that have the flexibility, tools, and support required to do their best work.

Our primary workplace model is hybrid. Depending on the role, project requirements, customer expectations, security obligations, and local arrangements, team members may work remotely, from an AblyCode workplace, or from a customer or project location.

We combine workplace flexibility with clear accountability, effective communication, engineering excellence, and a strong commitment to customer success.

Our Hybrid Workplace Model

AblyCode does not follow a one-size-fits-all approach to work location.

A team member’s working arrangement may depend on:

  • The responsibilities of the role
  • Project and customer requirements
  • Collaboration and team needs
  • Information-security and data-protection requirements
  • Local employment and regulatory requirements
  • Availability of an appropriate workplace

Some roles may operate primarily remotely, while others may require regular or occasional in-person attendance.

Role-specific workplace arrangements are communicated during recruitment, onboarding, project allocation, or through the applicable employment agreement.

Collaboration and Availability

Our teams often collaborate across locations, functions, and time zones. Team members are expected to:

  • Maintain reasonable availability during agreed working and collaboration hours
  • Attend scheduled meetings and project discussions
  • Keep calendars and availability information updated
  • Communicate delays, blockers, absences, and changes in availability promptly
  • Provide clear and timely progress updates
  • Collaborate respectfully using company-approved communication tools

Individual teams may establish shared collaboration windows based on project and customer needs.

Performance and Accountability

At AblyCode, performance is evaluated primarily through outcomes rather than physical presence. We value:

  • Quality of work
  • Ownership and accountability
  • Delivery against agreed commitments
  • Effective teamwork and communication
  • Engineering and operational excellence
  • Customer and business impact
  • Continuous learning and improvement

Workplace flexibility depends on mutual trust. Every team member is expected to manage their responsibilities professionally and raise risks or concerns early.

Remote-Work Environment

Team members working remotely are expected to maintain a suitable professional environment that supports productivity, confidentiality, and reliable communication. This includes:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A safe and reasonably distraction-free workspace
  • Appropriate care of company-provided equipment
  • Use of approved software, systems, and communication tools
  • Protection of company and customer information
  • Compliance with AblyCode’s security, privacy, and confidentiality requirements
  • Prompt reporting of security incidents, lost devices, or suspected data exposure

Confidential meetings and customer discussions should be conducted in an environment where sensitive information cannot be overheard or viewed by unauthorized individuals.

Office, Customer-Site, and In-Person Work

Team members may be requested to attend an AblyCode workplace, customer site, project location, or business event when in-person collaboration provides meaningful value. This may include:

  • Onboarding and training
  • Project planning and workshops
  • Customer meetings
  • Team collaboration sessions
  • Security or compliance activities
  • Business events
  • Company meetings and team gatherings

Where practicable, such requirements will be communicated with reasonable notice.

Any approved business travel or reimbursable expense will be managed in accordance with the applicable AblyCode travel and expense policy.

Working From a Different Location

A team member’s primary working location is agreed upon as part of their employment or engagement arrangement.

Regularly working from another city, state, or country may require prior written approval because it can affect:

  • Employment and tax obligations
  • Data-protection requirements
  • Customer contracts
  • Information-security controls
  • Insurance and workplace compliance
  • Time-zone availability

Temporary or permanent changes in working location should therefore be discussed and approved in advance.

Information Security and Confidentiality

Regardless of work location, every AblyCode team member is responsible for protecting company, employee, customer, and project information. Team members must follow all applicable policies relating to:

  • Access control and passwords
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Device and software security
  • Confidentiality
  • Customer data
  • Intellectual property
  • Secure communication
  • Storage and sharing of documents
  • Reporting of suspected security incidents

Customer-specific security requirements may apply in addition to AblyCode’s internal policies.

Inclusion and Respect

AblyCode is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

We expect all team members to treat colleagues, customers, partners, applicants, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect, regardless of their work location.

Discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, and other inappropriate workplace conduct are not acceptable.

Reasonable workplace support or accommodation requests will be considered in accordance with applicable policies and legal requirements.

Employee Well-Being

We encourage team members to maintain sustainable working practices and communicate openly when workload, health, personal circumstances, or workplace conditions affect their ability to work effectively. Team members are encouraged to:

  • Take appropriate breaks
  • Use available leave
  • Maintain healthy boundaries outside agreed working hours
  • Discuss workload concerns early
  • Seek support from their manager or the appropriate company representative

Project deadlines and customer commitments are important, but they should be managed through planning, communication, and teamwork rather than consistently unsustainable working practices.

Policy Scope

This page provides a public overview of AblyCode’s workplace approach.

Specific arrangements may vary depending on employment terms, role, project, customer requirements, work location, and applicable law. Where there is a difference between this public summary and an employment agreement, customer requirement, local policy, or applicable law, the relevant formal requirement will apply.

AblyCode may review and update this policy as business, workplace, regulatory, and customer requirements evolve.
